I've seen how important photographs can be in preserving memories and capturing moments that will never happen again. But all too often, people shy away from being in front of the camera because they don't feel confident in their appearance. They worry about looking too old, too fat, too thin, or simply not good enough. But the truth is, the photographs we take today will be cherished by our loved ones for years to come, and they are a testament to who we are in this moment.
And by the way.....you are perfect as you are.
It's time to stop hiding from the camera and start embracing yourself as you are. Here are some tips to help you love yourself and be more present in your photographs:
Focus on the positive: Instead of fixating on your flaws, focus on your positive qualities. Think about your unique traits, your accomplishments, and what makes you special. Remember that you are more than your physical appearance.
Be kind to yourself: Treat yourself with kindness and compassion, just as you would a friend. Don't judge yourself harshly or compare yourself to others. Celebrate your individuality and the things that make you unique.
Choose clothes that make you feel good: Wear clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable. Dress for yourself, not for anyone else.
Practice mindfulness: Being present in the moment can help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera. Take a few deep breaths, focus on your surroundings, and allow yourself to relax.
Have fun: Remember that photography should be a fun and enjoyable experience. Don't take yourself too seriously and allow yourself to be silly and playful in front of the camera.
Embrace imperfection: Remember that nobody is perfect, and that's okay. Embrace your imperfections and quirks, as they are a part of what makes you unique and interesting.
At the end of the day, the photographs we take today will be cherished by our loved ones in the future. They will be a reminder of who we were and the moments we shared. So let go of your insecurities, love yourself as you are, and be present in your photographs. They are a gift that you and your loved ones will treasure for years to come.
As always, your support and enthusiasm fuel my passion for this weekly series! I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to explore self-love and self-care with you. As we continue this journey together, I'm open to exploring any topics close to your heart. Feel free to share your suggestions, and let's keep spreading love and positivity through our shared experiences.

]]>We live in a digital age, we tend to store all of our memories and photographs on our devices, assuming they are safe and secure. Over time, digital files can become corrupt, and the quality of images can deteriorate. This is why it is important to print what you love.
Digital media files, such as photographs and videos, are stored on various types of digital media, such as hard drives, memory cards, or cloud storage. While these storage methods are convenient, they are not foolproof. Digital media can be easily corrupted due to various reasons, such as software or hardware failure, viruses, and physical damage to the storage device. When a digital file becomes corrupted, it can be lost forever, and with it, all of the memories it contained.
In addition to the risk of corruption, digital photos can also degrade over time due to various factors such as file compression, software updates, and changes in file formats. This can lead to a loss of image quality, color, and detail, making the images less enjoyable to view and less meaningful.
This is why it is important to print what you love.
Printed photographs have a longer lifespan than digital files, and they can be passed down from generation to generation as tangible memories. Printed photographs also provide a sense of permanence and tangibility that digital files cannot match. When you hold a printed photograph, you can feel the texture of the paper, see the vibrant colors, and appreciate the intricate details of the image.
Printing your photos is also a way to ensure that they are seen and appreciated. While digital photos can be easily shared on social media and through messaging apps, they can be quickly forgotten as they get buried under the constant stream of new content. Printed photos, on the other hand, can be displayed on walls, in frames, or in photo albums, where they can be viewed and enjoyed on a daily basis.
In conclusion, while digital media is convenient, it is not immune to degradation or corruption. This is why it is important to print what you love. Printed photographs provide a sense of permanence and tangibility that digital files cannot match. They also ensure that your memories are safe and secure for future generations to enjoy.

As women, we are often our own worst critics when it comes to our appearance. We shy away from the camera, thinking that we don't look good enough or that we need to lose weight or look younger before we can be photographed. But the truth is, existing in photos is important for leaving a legacy for our loved ones.
Photographs are a powerful way to preserve memories and capture moments that will never happen again. They are a tangible reminder of the people we love and the moments we shared with them. But when we don't exist in photos, we are denying our loved ones the opportunity to remember us as we were.
As women, we often take on the role of caretakers and memory keepers for our families. We document the milestones of our children and partners, but we forget to include ourselves in these memories. By not existing in photos, we are denying our families the opportunity to remember us and the important role we played in their lives.
Existing in photos is not about being perfect or looking a certain way. It's about being present in the moment and capturing the essence of who we are. When we exist in photos, we are leaving a legacy for our loved ones that will be cherished for years to come.
So, ladies, it's time to stop hiding from the camera and start existing in photos. Don't worry about your imperfections.... Remember that your loved ones see you as beautiful and perfect just the way you are. Capture the moments that matter and leave a legacy for your loved ones that they will treasure for generations to come.

As a photographer, I believe that one of the most powerful ways we can celebrate ourselves is by capturing our beauty and strength through photography.
Taking care of ourselves, both physically and mentally, is crucial to our well-being. And what better way to do so than by treating ourselves to a professional photo session or even just taking some selfies at home? Celebrating our beauty and uniqueness through photography can be a powerful act of self-love and self-care.
But it's not just about us. It's also about leaving a photo legacy for our loved ones. Think about how much you cherish old family photos - those moments frozen in time that tell the story of your family's history. Don't you want to create those same memories for your own family? By being in photos and capturing these special moments, we can leave a legacy for our children and grandchildren to cherish for years to come.
So today, let's celebrate ourselves and our families by taking some time to be in photos, whether it's with a professional photographer or just with our own cameras. Let's leave a legacy of beauty, strength, and love that will inspire generations to come. Happy International Women's Day!

Self-esteem is essentially the quality of being pleased with yourself. The opposite of having high self-esteem is loathing yourself, which is obviously a challenging way to live. Learning how to be happy with yourself can benefit you in every other aspect of your life. You’ll be a lot happier in general, too.
Work on your self-esteem each day. It doesn’t sit at a constant level for most people. Good days, weeks, and months tends to raise it. Experiencing bad periods of time tends to reduce it.
A great start is to decide on your values and then use them as a guide as you make decisions throughout the day. This is the foundation of high, and lasting, self-esteem.
How can I help you in your journey to self love and self care? What other topics would you like me to cover in this series?

Eating garbage, drinking away our stress, or not exercising are all ways we don't treat our bodies well. You, and especially your body, deserve better.
Use these powerful affirmations to begin changing your mindset. You deserve it....
Body love affirmations.
I treat my body like a king treats his castle. It is my prized possession. My body deserves to be taken care of. Since my body drives every activity I do, I give it my full attention.
My body gets me out of bed each morning. It is important that it functions well so I can meet my physical obligations.
I take time to exercise my body, which keeps it from breaking down.
What I put into my mouth determines how well my inner body functions. I avoid giving into cravings for unhealthy foods because they dull my mind and put pressure on my organs.
I follow a balanced eating regimen to ensure I get the necessary nutrients. A healthy diet ensures my mind is sharp and able to take on the day's challenges.
I take good care of my mind by monitoring my thoughts. I watch appropriate programming on television to encourage positive living. I also engage in healthy conversations with friends and co-workers.
I also exercise my mind every chance I get. When I play games or do puzzles, I get a good mental workout.
Today, I am committed to living a good life. I know that it starts by having a healthy body inside and out. My life's mission is to keep my body as happy and healthy as possible.

Have you lost someone you love dearly? Many times, these deaths come as the result of long illnesses, but sometimes the deaths are sudden and unexpected. In either case, grief can be overwhelming.
Losing a loved one can feel like a piece of you has been taken away. Normal day-to-day activities require much more energy when you're grieving. Dealing with the pain effectively can help you pick up the pieces that are left and continue to live.
Try these methods to help with your grief and move forward:
1-Surround yourself with support. Initially, you may want to be left alone with your thoughts or you may be afraid to love anyone else again. Those feelings are completely normal and even expected. Eventually, though, isolating yourself can be unhelpful to your recovery.
2-Accept the support of others. *this is the hardest one for me* Sure, people may sometimes say the wrong thing, but most of them sincerely want to help. Seek companionship and be open about your feelings. When people offer to bring you a meal or spend an evening with you, accept it. Everyone needs support through difficult times.
3-Keep it real. Be honest with yourself about how you feel and accept your feelings. There's no right or wrong way to feel when you're mourning. Part of the healing process involves you allowing your emotions, however intense, to come out freely.
4-Express yourself. Feel free to talk about your loss with your support network. If you're not ready to discuss your feelings face to face, start a journal or join an online community of people with similar experiences.
5-Take care of yourself. Stay as true to your daily routine as you can. Regular exercise and good nutrition contribute to your overall emotional health. Go above and beyond your normal nurturing routine and treat yourself to a relaxing massage, a walk in nature, or some time to listen to soft music.
6-Educate yourself. Research the topic of grief to learn the signs and strategies for coping with it. Educating yourself on the subject can be essential to the healing process. As you do your research, you'll begin to understand your feelings. You'll discover that others who have lost someone they love also feel your feelings and you'll learn about what others have done to work through grief.
7-Take it one day at a time. When you're faced with death, all you may see is a blank wall in front of you. Looking beyond the event and imagining life without your loved one may feel extremely challenging. Your feelings may be so overwhelming that they cloud your view.
Have realistic expectations regarding your progress. Grieving takes time and energy. Pace yourself: set small goals and celebrate milestones. Expect challenges when special holidays, anniversaries, and birthdays roll around. But be ready to continue on your journey to recovery.
Life After the Death of a Loved one
It's common for people who survive a loved one to feel guilty about having fun. You may ask yourself, "How dare I enjoy life without my loved one present?" But in reality, you're not betraying your loved done by having fun. In fact, the best way we can honor those who have passed away is by living our lives to the fullest.
Love to all.....xoxo Pamela

The answer was that they would then have all $150,000, because he hated himself the most.
And that is exactly why I am continuing this series on learning to love and value yourself. This week we talk about five steps to an authentic and effective self image.
Your self-image is the way you view yourself. You might view yourself as a parent, construction worker, friend, blonde, sports fan, intelligent, impatient, and middle-aged. But you’re more than your career, gender, and age. You’re more than other's opinion of you too.
You’re a unique person with nuances that are unique to you!
When who you are aligns with what you do, you’re living authentically. But most of us view ourselves as one way and live another. Authentic people act honestly and congruently.
The benefits of this congruency are enormous: success, self-esteem, respect from others, and inner peace.
Those that live lives misaligned with their values, beliefs, and attitudes suffer from more anxiety, guilt, and shame. It might seem easier to live up to the expectations of others in the short-term, but the long-term costs are significant.
Follow these steps to determine your true self and live life on your terms:
1-Identify your core values. An authentic self-image is one that is aligned with your values. By knowing your values, you’ll gain an understanding of what is important to you. Once you’re aware of your values, you can build a self-image and life that are more meaningful and enjoyable.
2-Determine if you have any conflicts. For example, you might say that adventure and freedom are two of your most important values, but what if you also strongly favor responsibility and security? Those values could be in conflict.
3-Create an action plan for each value. Imagine one of your values is frugality. You could create a budget and savings plan that incorporates that value. You might plan to start clipping coupons, visit less expensive stores, and search for free entertainment options available on the weekends.
4-Make a list of activities you enjoy that are in alignment with your values. For example, if generosity is a priority, you could find an enjoyable way to spend your time helping others. If health is a value you cherish, you could join a soccer team or a yoga class. Find your favorite sport and participate.
5-Evaluate yourself at the end of each day. Think about the instances when you failed to live according to your values. Likewise, contemplate the times you were able to live according to your values and self-image, particularly when doing so was challenging.
Create a self-image that is in alignment with your values. First, it is necessary to identify and choose your values. Next, construct a life that allows you to live those values consistently and to thrive. Authenticity eliminates many of the common emotional ailments in life, but it’s not always the easiest choice.
Be bold enough to choose the person you want to become and live accordingly. The benefits are enormous. What are your values?

This week we talk about our self conscious mind, and how to STOP caring what other people think about you.....pro tip: most people are so worried about themselves, they don't have time to worry about you.
Are you worried about what everyone thinks? You’re certainly not alone. This is a common concern that faces people in every society.
Scientists believe this concern is rooted in evolution. There was a time that being ostracized from the group meant certain death. You simply couldn’t survive on your own 30,000 years ago. You needed help. It was useful to be concerned about how you appeared to others.
However, you don’t have to rely on a village of people to feed you or to keep you safe these days. You have a car. You can buy food at the store. You don’t need to fight off the savages in the next village. Those days are over.
You don’t need many people in your circle to thrive in today’s world. Those who matter are on your side. The rest are irrelevant. Stop being overly concerned about what others think and you’ll feel a new freedom to live the life you want.
I hope you're loving this weekly series as much I love creating it for you. Are there any other self love or self care topics you would like me to cover?

Sometimes that takes a few minutes to sink in.
What do I love about myself? What a shift in mindset of the constant barrage of negativity that we throw upon ourselves. Instead of "I hate my stretch marks" or "Ugh, my thighs have cellulite" they say things like "I love my hair" or "You know, I think I have sexy arms."
Affirmations can be powerful tools to change our inner dialogue, freeing you from negative self talk. I recommend you write these down, or print them out so you cam say them to yourself:
My self-talk has a powerful effect on my life, so I pay attention to what I say to myself.
I maintain a high level of awareness of my self-talk. I know that negative self-talk can have derogatory effects on my mood, decisions, actions, and results. For this reason, I make it a priority to think kindly of myself and use encouraging self-talk to uplift my spirits.
I have the power to control my self-talk. When I catch myself saying negative things to myself, I purposely change the narrative to say positive things to myself instead.
I have the ability to use positive self-talk to my advantage. I choose to say things that support me and drive me toward my objectives.
I make myself a more powerful and capable person by utilizing positive self-talk.
I accept that it can be challenging to always be positive, but I do the best that I can. I am up for this challenge. Each day, I become better at avoiding negativity. Each day, I am more accepting of positive thoughts and ideas. My brain is rewiring itself to be more
optimistic.
Today, I only pay attention to my positive thoughts and self-talk that supports me. I avoid all negative thoughts and self-talk. I am very optimistic about today and about the rest of my life.

Were you ever about to do something - and then suddenly, that voice inside your head starts talking?
Why did you do that? You’re a bad person. No one wants to talk to you. You will never achieve anything in life.
That negative voice inside your head that judges, criticizes, or demeans you is your inner critic. Your inner critic plays a critical role in how you see yourself and your self-esteem.
When you don’t know how to deal with your inner critic, you can feel ashamed, worthless, or low on self-esteem.
Your inner critic might undermine your every accomplishment. Or it might show up as you enter a room of people you’ve never met before. That harsh inner critic can lead to self-doubt or lack of confidence.
When you let your inner critic control too many of your actions, it could hold you back from things like growth, connection, and your full potential.
Even though the way we think influences how we behave, those thoughts we have are not always true! If someone feels insecure and believes no one wants to talk to them, how charismatic do you think they will be in social settings?
Follow these strategies to deal with your inner critic and take control of your life:
1. Acknowledge and understand. When negative thoughts come up, acknowledge your thoughts. Try to understand the source of where your thoughts are coming from.
● How old do I feel right now?
● Why do I feel this way?
● What are some patterns I recognize?
● Where do these thoughts come from?
● How do these thoughts affect my behavior?
2. What advice would you give a friend? If a friend came to you in the same situation as you feel, what advice would you give to them? Many times, we are harder on ourselves than we are with others.
3. Separate facts from feelings. Your brain might be hardwired to think that no one wants to talk to you or that you’re a bad person. But is that actually a fact? Practice sorting through facts and your feelings.
● What is another, more positive way you could look at the situation?
4. Practice self-acceptance and self-compassion. Replace negative or critical thoughts with accepting and compassionate ones. Have a selection of empowering, compassionate beliefs that you can tell yourself instead of succumbing to negative ones.
5. Write down positive thoughts. When your inner critic comes out, what is it saying? How can you challenge your inner critic?
● Write down times in your life that people have said positive things about you.
● Focus on your strengths and what you are good at.
6. Distract yourself when you start replaying mistakes in your head. Have you ever made a mistake and replayed those moments over and over again? That doesn’t resolve the issue. If you find you’re ruminating instead of actively problem-solving, distract yourself from those thoughts.
● Take a walk.
● Read a book.
● Listen to a podcast.
● Play a game.
● Cuddle your pet.
7. Remind yourself that everyone has an inner critic. Having an inner critic is a human function. It comes from the parts of our brain that evolved to protect ourselves. If you find yourself in a loop of critical thoughts, remind yourself that every human experiences self-doubt at one point or another.
Your inner critic does not have to control your life! Taking these steps to silence your inner critic and nurture a more empowering inner dialogue can help you grow and expand your horizons.
There’s a difference between that harmful voice telling you that you are not good enough and wanting to improve yourself. Use the tips above to silence your inner critic so you can reach your full potential.
Hey, we are all a work in progress. Are there any other self love or self care topics you would like me to cover?
